There is a lot of good Sun Valley news to love this Valentine’s Day. With the election over, the stock market strong, and confidence returning we are seeing an increase in showings and sales up and down the Wood River Valley. New and increasing direct flights from Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle are a welcome source of potential buyers. Many other mountain towns, such as Truckee, are so over crowded that one day Squaw Valley shut down because the ski mountain was “full”. Here on Baldy, a lift line is a rare occurrence making Sun Valley more and more attractive to San Francisco buyers. Also we have a new hotel in town, The Limelight, which is attracting more visitors.
Sales statistics show we are off to a strong start in 2017. So far this year, we have 10% fewer listings than we did in the same time period in 2016 and our sold volume is up 100%. And our average sales price is up 50%. We are starting to see buyers looking for inventory that is no longer available. While we will still call this a buyer’s market, the market is showing signs of shifting.
Love from Sun Valley.
